phpBay Pro Review – Niche Marketing Simplified
We decided that it was time to do a full phpBay Pro Review because we were recently contracted by a new client that wanted to completely revamp their niche marketing website because they were suffering from a number of issues that also included poor search engine rankings.
We get requests like this pretty often and expected to find a paper thin affiliate or MFA (made for adsense) type website. After taking a quick look however, we noticed that it was exactly the opposite, filled with useful content and free information on the niche, updated regularly, as well as a number of quality backlinks. What bothered us the moment we saw it was that it looked like a cookie cutter website and was built with an outdated software (which will remain nameless) and was also fairly hard to navigate.
Part of our proposal was to redesign the website using a Wordpress platform modified to act more like a CMS with a custom template designed around the niche. The client agreed and we began working together to design a suitable template and begin the migration of information. The client's biggest source of income on the website was through the eBay affiliate program so we were also required to find and integrate an eBay Wordpress Plugin. And so our search began.
There are a number of eBay Wordpress Plugins available out there, but after testing each of them extensively, we were extremely disappointed as they did not offer exactly what we and the client wanted. That is until we came across phpBay Pro.
I have to be honest here, I (Ejudicator) did the majority of the eBay Wordpress Plugin testing because I am somewhat of a perfectionist on migration projects, and I tested every eBay plugin available. phpBay Pro is by far the easiest and most functional eBay Wordpress Plugin to use, hands down. It works the same way any other Wordpress plugin does. You just plop it into the Wordpress plugin directory, click on activate, and done. You do have to go to the options section under settings to enter in your validation key and your affiliate ID, but that is really all you need to do to get it up and running and takes about 10 seconds.
Even though phpBay Pro is easy to setup as well as use, it has two very important features that are worth noting.
- Blog platforms are absolutely adored by search engines and enjoy great search engine rankings as a result, but thin affiliate sites can suffer a search engine penalty if they contain too many affiliate links. phpBay Pro was designed to mask the affiliate links to eBay, after a few minor modifications that anyone can do. As a result when you hover over an eBay link, it appears to be on a page hosted on the website you are visiting, and these pages are also indexed providing fresh daily new content. Simply put, phpBay Pro has numerous SEO benefits. As a side note, the auction images also appear to be hosted on the visited website as well. (See Below)
- phpBay Pro includes paging and column options, which were much requested and then added features. This means that if the keyword search term that you enter returns numerous results, you can limit how many appear on the page or post, and the visitor can scroll through the results themselves to find exactly what they want and all the while remain on your website. I have included an example of phpBay Pro in action below, using the keywords "internet marketing" and have made absolutely no custom modifications to the plugin other that activating it, so you can see just how easy it is to use.

There are also a number of add-ons that work hand in hand with phpBay Pro including an Amazon Plugin to feature Amazon products in a similar fashion, for those that are either not part of the eBay affiliate program or want to display those items as well.
There is also a free geo-target add-on available that identifies the country of origin of the person visiting the website that will automatically adjust which auctions are selected.
All in all, we and I especially, recommend phpBay Pro as the only eBay Wordpress Plugin to ever use. We have since completed the work on the client's project and they are extremely happy with the results as well.
